The Process

How It Works

01

Commission & Planning

We plan the look, backdrop, and what you want your final portraits to feel like.

02

The Photoshoot

No perfect behavior required. I photograph personality first. The "good" moments happen naturally.

03

Portrait Reveal

You'll see 40–60 fully edited portraits from your session in a proof gallery, and pick your favorites. In-person or online.

04

Choose Your Artwork

Wall art, albums, or the full digital collection. You choose what you love after you've seen the images.

About Me

Kevin Sarasom

I'm Kevin Sarasom, and if you want the best dog portrait experience in the world, you're in the right place. This isn't "pet photography." It's a personal, high-touch session built around connection: with your dog, with you, and with the room.

I've spent 20 years as a cinematographer and photographer, working commercially with fashion and lifestyle brands — and for the last 10 years, I've brought that same eye into Off Leash Studio: the lighting, direction, and editorial sensibility of a fashion set, pointed at your dog.

I've photographed 15,000+ dogs for private clients across Los Angeles, New York City, Toronto, and London, including high-profile families and public figures who value discretion, calm energy, and results that feel undeniable.

My specialty is reading a dog in minutes: what motivates them, what overwhelms them, and how to bring out the exact expression you recognize at home.

You'll leave with a portrait that feels like your dog, and finished as artwork you'll still want on your wall years from now.
FAQ

Common Questions

Do I need to select artwork upfront?

No. You only choose artwork after you see your portraits at the reveal. Nothing is decided before you've seen the images.

What's the difference between the three tiers?

Every tier includes the same studio session and a gallery of 40–60 fully edited portraits — the difference is how many digital images you take home. Tier 1 ($700): a 40-minute session and 5 digital images. Tier 2 ($1,000, our most popular): a 1-hour session, 10 digital images, and one 5×7 fine-art print. Tier 3 ($1,500): a 1-hour session, 25 digital images, and the full RAW gallery (2,000–4,000 images) yours online for life.

Is my session included in the price?

Yes. Your tier price is the all-in total for the session and the digital images it includes. Finished wall art is separate — chosen and custom-priced at your Reveal Call once you've seen every image.

Can the reveal be done online?

Yes. Your Reveal Call can be done in-person or entirely online, whichever works best for you.

What should I prepare before the session?

Bring your dog's favorite treats — something to lick like peanut butter, plus small treats for tossing. Optional props help too: a favorite toy, blanket, or bed, a stylish collar or bandana, a special outfit, or a meaningful keepsake. Pet parents get free professional headshots as well.

Can we choose different backdrop colors?

Absolutely. We plan the look, backdrop, and overall feel together during your planning consult so everything suits your dog and your walls.

My dog won't sit still.

Completely normal. I work fast, use simple direction, and photograph the moments in-between. That's usually where the magic is.

Do you photograph other pets?

Yes. While dogs are my specialty, all pets are welcome in the studio. Mention your pet during the planning consult and we'll design the session around them.

Can we be in the photos too?

Absolutely. Off Leash sessions aren't just for your dog — many clients include themselves, their partner, or the whole family in the portraits. Just mention it during the planning consult and we'll design family portraits with you and your dog together, alongside their solo shots.
